The Tewksbury Knights of Columbus

The November food drive took place on Saturday, November 18th at the Knights of Columbus in Tewksbury. The drive was a huge success in which 2000 pounds of food was collected and delivered to the pantry. We thank everyone who particiapted in the food drive and all those who donated food. A simple thank you does not seem like enough but please know that your support helps to stock our shelves to feed those in our community in need of food assistance. We continue to be overwhelmed with pride from the generosity and kindness of those in and around our community.

Tewksbury Pantry Welcomes Cumberland Farms to Tewksbury!

The 25th Annual Letter Carriers’
Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive took place on Saturday, May 13, 2017

We would like to thank everyone who helped! Without the effort made to publicize this food drive, the benefit to the pantry might be minimal. It was a long day and we are thankful that the weather held out. We had great volunteers show up and with the help of everyone, all the food received was sorted and put away.

Millions of Americans live from one day to the next uncertain where their next meal will come from—a sad statistic that helps to reinforce the importance of the annual National Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive

TEWKSBURY COMMUNITY PANTRY 2017 ANNUAL MEETING HELD The Tewksbury Community Pantry's 2017 Annual Meeting took place on Wednesday, March 1st. Our board president conducted the meeting and thanked all who attended. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers for their hard work and dedication. The Pantry has always been able to meet the needs of the increasing numbers of Tewksbury residents who require food assistance only because you give so generously of your time and effort.

More Than Vegetables~Tewksbury Library Community Garden Donates $1k!

Members of the Tewksbury Library Community Garden came together to present a check to the Tewksbury Food Pantry President, Ray Bowden, for $1,000. Through the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers, and with the support of the library staff and the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library, the garden provided approximately 850 pounds of produce from June through November. Tomatoes, potatoes, squash, cucumbers, herbs, beans and kale are just some of the vegetables distributed. A huge kudos goes out to our Pantry Board Member, Jennifer Karp, for coordinating this effort with the Library.

US Postal Service National Association of Letter Carriers
24th Annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive
which was held on Saturday, May 14, 2016

Thank you to everyone for another successful US Postal Service National Association of Letter Carriers food drive! Once again our advertising efforts were essential in helping get the word out around the community. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of great volunteers (many who return every year for this event and some new faces too). Our volunteers work very hard collecting and sorting food, checking dates and stocking shelves, we could not accomplish this without you. It was a great team effort and we collect approximately 10,636 pounds of food. We would like to note that, unfortunately, people continue to donated old and expired food. Of the 10,636 lbs collected on Saturday, we had 1300 lbs of old food that we had to discard, 1500 lbs of expired food and 7,836 lbs of usable food items. We will continue to remind people to check for expiration dates before they donate.
